Villas is a good, interesting writer, but he's also a total snob. Example: his piece on the Four Seasons in NYC is filled with so many superlatives that it collapses under their weight. But he was writing for Town & Country magazine, practically the bible for snobs in the seventies and eighties. Understanding that, his pieces are fun to read.
