Cook Yourself Thin offers a simple way to lose weight and be healthy without losing your mind. This is not your ordinary diet book. The show (with the same name) airs on Lifetime on May 4th for 20 consecutive days (1 new episode a day for 3 weeks). The concept of the show is to help viewers not only know what they're eating but teach them how to cook good food fast with simple, healthy ingredients. Three female hosts (one is a carryover from the UK show; the other is Allison Fishman, creator of the wooden-spoon.com) teach a guest to cook a lower-fat version of their favorite meals on the hour-long program, and then visit their guest in their home a month later to check on their progress.
The book will include 80 recipes--divided by breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, dessert--color photographs of the food, a quick calorie guide, a list of the big (and surprise) calorie offenders, a food personality quiz, ingredients for success (i.e. what to have in your pantry), and testimonials from guests on the show, along with the host bios. This has the potential to be any woman's food bible.
