Brigitte Moran is originally from France but has been living and eating in the United States since she was five years old. Encompassed in her history as an eater is the story of eaters who feel they have lost their food traditions, eaters who have felt misled by the industrial food pyramid, and eaters who are hungry for a sense of connection to a local, healthy food system. In 1989, Moran started the downtown San Rafael Farmers Market on 4th Street. In 2004, she joined Marin Farmers Markets and Marin Agricultural Institute as their Executive Director with the goal in mind of building a pavilion dedicated to celebrating the region's agricultural roots.
