Irresistible braises, roasts, soups, and stews so tender the meat falls off the bone

From legendary cookbook author and food writer Jean Anderson comes Falling Off the Bone, a collection of luscious recipes for simple, delicious meat dishes just like grandma used to make, but updated for contemporary kitchens and tastes. With beautiful color photographs throughout, this cookbook shows just how mouthwateringly delicious simple home cooking can be.

Falling Off the Bone presents quintessential comfort food recipes that are ideal for virtually any cut of beef, pork, lamb, or veal. Anderson shows you how to use slow cooking methods like braising or roasting to coax amazing flavors out of even the most common and affordable cuts.

  • Features gorgeously photographed recipes for such soul-satisfying dishes as Beef Bourguignon, Veal Ossobuco, and Onion and Mushroom Smothered Swiss Steak
  • Perfect for cooks on a budget, these recipes make the most of affordable cuts of meat
  • Written by one of America's most renowned food writers and cookbook authors

For anyone who wants to eat great on a budget, Falling Off the Bone offers satisfying comfort foods that are simple, delicious, and more tender than you can even imagine.

I am happily cooking my way through this excellent book. Anderson really knows about food, cooking, and how to make techniques and perhaps unfamiliar cuts of meat accessible to the home cook. The recipes are crystal clear, succinct, and leave room for personal tastes and improvisation. Forget the celebrity cooks; this is a REAL expert.

This is a cookbook that you can really cook from without worrying whether the recipes will work. I trust all of the many cookbooks that have been written by Jean Anderson. And, this one is especially yummy.
