i first met flo braker in the pages of COOK'S ILLUSTRATED magazine. her meringues were perfection and are still the gold standard in my book! in THE SIMPLE ART OF PERFECT BAKING, the four recipes i tried have all been winners.....1. yogurt bundt cake, with ground almonds and lemon zest...lovely and satisfying with a cup of tea! 2. cornmeal pound cake....if you like that slight crunch and flavor of cornmeal, you will love this cake! 3. chocolate cake squares....rich, moist, impossible to resist seconds!! 4. lemon tart....heavenly! a guest at my table asked if she could take a slice home for her husband! there is so much to learn about baking and flo braker teaches brilliantly in the pages of this book.
