As a Souther ex-pat, I will fully admit that I'm biased ... love to bolster the southern based authors. Despite this claim, I do feel this book is a new "classic' ... it captures the old guard south at it's best (aka Jezebel), to the new guard. Villas' definitely knows his desserts too. Between his mamma, his mamma's friends, and his own inner circle of southern foodies, you shouldn't be disappointed. I've tried out a couple of the recipes and have been pleased!
